New Guidelines to Follow with the Rapid Rise of COVID-19:

Our staff recognizes the rising concern surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) across the communities we serve, and our compassion goes out to all those who have been impacted. We are carefully monitoring the advice of the Centers for Disease Control as well as the AVMA guidelines. Our primary focus is to continue to serve you, while prioritizing the health and safety of our team members. This means that every day, as part of our regular operations, Veterinary Ophthalmic Consulting has increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the clinic.

In order to best protect staff and clients, we’ve put together some guidelines to follow:

STAY HOME IF YOU’RE SICK

We urge all clients to stay at home or seek medical assistance if they are not feeling well. We will be happy to authorize another person on your account so that your pet can be treated immediately or make other arrangements for your convenience and safety. We have instructed all staff who are feeling ill to stay at home.

ONE PERSON ONLY

At this time, we are asking that no more than one person accompany your pet to their appointment. This will help us limit the number of people and pets in the lobby.

UPCOMING APPOINTMENTS

  • We ask that you CALL us from your car or outside of the building once you arrive to check in. A VOC team member will assist you outside when it’s your appointment time.

  • Your pet will be brought back to our treatment room to be examined by our ophthalmologists, then our doctors will call you to discuss the diagnosis and a plan of action.

  • If you’re unsure of whether your pet needs to be seen on emergency or if a scheduled appointment is okay, please call us to assess the situation.

  • We ask that all non-urgent appointments get rescheduled over the next few weeks. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

MEDICATION REFILLS

If your pet needs a medication refill, please call your desired location or submit an online refill form that can be found on our website (www.vocsocal.com). Be prepared to give payment over the phone and to pick up your medications outside of our VOC clinics.

WE CAN ALSO MAIL OUT YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS ($15 FOR SHIPPING) WHICH WE RECOMMEND DURING THIS TIME.

WASH YOUR HANDS

We know you’ve heard this many times, but it’s worth repeating.

AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY AND ASSISTANCE

As of now our business hours will remain normal, Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

If you need emergency assistance after hours, call our main number at 949-404-4100 and leave a detailed message with your first and last name, your pet's name, and a call back number. An on-call VOC technician will call you back as soon as they can once they have received your message.

Any other non-emergency related calls - such as medication refills, rescheduling or canceling an appointment, or calls to make a consultation - will be returned the next business day.
